Say you have installed your application in the mmc. Then goto E:/system/Apps and browse all the folders inside the apps folder tofind the folder of the software you want to hide . Then just cut the ,app file of the software you want to hide and paste it into any folder in your mmc other than your apps folder.
Now open the menu and you will find that all the software will not be shown in the menu.
To restore the application just paste the .app file in it's respective original folder.the menu-icon will reappear but in the last section of the menu.
